what being a man means
surely, when reading my "about me" page, seeing "just a guy" takes the mind to a default template of a man, often--and let's be honest, even in the most progressive circles--a cisgender man.
if you're expecting that, well, sorry to disappoint (sike) but a cisgender man i am not.
this won't be a blog about that, this part of me, but i felt that was worth addressing. i might muse about it here and there, but my relationship to masculinity is one that has been in flux for as long as i can remember.
it is a part of me, nonetheless. it needs to be immortalized, if not just among my chosen family, but in this space i made for me. it's especially crucial in this sociopolitical climate, more than ever.
to answer the title: there is no answer, right now. i'm still figuring that out.
